Hear From Our Teachers

Tanner Neely, Fourth Grade Science and Social Studies Teacher

There’s something special about teaching 4th grade in the very place where I once sat as a student myself. In our small rural school, the sense of community runs deep, and I feel honored to give back to the same halls that helped shape me. My classroom is full of curiosity, energy and laughter—each day a new adventure in learning and growing together occurs. What makes it even sweeter is working alongside two incredible coworkers, who not only share the load but also the joy of the journey. Together, we’re more than teachers; we’re a family, pouring our hearts into the next generation of this community we love.

Maddie Bain, Second and Third Grade Special Education Teacher

"As a first year teacher at EBE, I have felt so welcomed and supported by the faculty, staff, and students. The positive atmosphere and friendly faces make it a joy to come to work each day. I look forward to learning and growing alongside my students. I'm excited for all that is to come as a Lil' Trojan!"

When I think of EBE, I think of family. We work as a team to figure out the best way to help students and each other. My favorite parts of the day are welcoming my students with a "morning meeting", helping my students become better readers, and dancing to Danny Go for brain breaks with my students. My favorite quote is "Kids don't learn from people they don't like." - Rita Pierson. Always encourage them to learn, teach them all you can about kindness, love them with your whole heart AND ALWAYS JOIN THE DANCE PARTY!

Jessica Ford, Second Grade Teacher

"Walking the halls of my former school, where I now teach, brings back so many cherished memories. This marks my tenth year since I first stepped into the world of teaching. Each day my students’ curiosity and enthusiasm remind me why I chose this amazing profession in the first place. I encourage my students to always try their best, no matter how challenging the task may seem. Each day I feel hopeful and grateful for the chance to give back to the community that shaped me!”

"Being a 5th grade teacher at EBE is a pretty awesome gig! Teaching in our little community means that you know every student's unique personality and strengths, not just their academic progress. It's so rewarding to see the shy, awkward 10-year-olds at the beginning of the year grow into confident, responsible young leaders by the end, especially since you’ve known many of them—and their families—for years. I'm so glad I get to be a part of their story here at EBE!"

Misty Vaughn, 3rd Grade ELA Teacher

EBE is truly the place to be! I love sharing the joy of reading with our third graders and watching their growth throughout the year. It is incredibly rewarding to see their progress and confidence blossom. There’s no place I’d rather be than here at EBE, helping shape future leaders.
